Big Budda Cheese
As experienced by the Team at Dream Lounge Cannabis in Revelstoke, BC.
Here we have a great strain for those interested in the cheesier end of the spectrum. Bred by crossing Afghani with UK Cheese, Big Budda Cheese produces a complex bouquet of aromas somewhat similar to the cheese section of a European Marche whilst the effect/high is more reminiscent of a scene from Human Traffic. After hearing about how this exact strain won the 2006 High Times Cannabis Cup, the team at Dream Lounge were stoked to finally see a real life Big Budda Cheese available in the Canadian Legal Market. Here’s what we found out:
Look:
Bright green nugs with very tightly trimmed orange hairs that when combined with dense trichome coverage, giving the bud that slightly pale green colour that one looks for in a good cheese strain.
Smell:
Ripe aromas of bold cheese come to mind at first with a subtle earthy spice to round out the complexity. There is perhaps a small undertone of citrus but the upfront flavours are pungent, savoury and a little bit spicy. Dominant terpenes are Beta Pinene, Linalool and Myrcene.
Taste:
Subtle savoury tones rounded out by a nice spicy undertone. The taste profile lingered in an impressive way and was in line with what you would expect from it’s smell profile.
Experience:
A great overall experience, from jar open to writing this review. We found the vibe of Big Budda Cheese to be a great throwback strain to the classic UK Cheese strains many of us know and love that adds a great undertone of earthy spice when combined with Afghani. The THC content of 23.5% is a testament to this pairing and the high left us giggling like the old days. The strains terpene profile of Pinene, Linalool and Myrcene suggests it is a great choice for sleep, relaxation, euphoria & more.
